Why Clearday exists
Started Clearday after ten years cleaning for other companies, to run one where cleaners are employed properly and clients get the same person each visit.
Mel Hartigan started Clearday in 2016 from Aspley. The rules haven't changed since: cleaners are employed and paid properly, every price is on the website before you book, and you get the same cleaner each visit whenever we can.

How we choose cleaners

National police check
Every cleaner holds a current national police check, renewed every three years.

Interview
A conversation with Mel or Grace about how they work, and two work references we actually call.

Paid trial clean
A full clean alongside a team lead, who checks the work room by room against our lists.

Employed, then trained
They join as employees, not subcontractors, and shadow a team lead until they know the lists by heart.
What we carry
- $20M public liability
- Public liability insurance of $20 million. We send a certificate of currency on request.
- Workers’ compensation
- Every cleaner is an employee, covered by our workers’ compensation, so an accident in your home is our responsibility, not yours.
- Police-checked
- Every cleaner holds a current national police check.
- 24-hour re-clean promise
- If we missed something, tell us within 24 hours and we'll come back and re-clean it free.
